Kindergarten graduation

Finally got there! For all these years we have been inseparable. We laughed together, we cried together and you always had my hands to hold on to. Sometimes you made me cry - of joy, of sadness (when your teacher called me at her office to talk about your behavior :) but most of all you have been this incredible boy, smart one, who captures the best in me. You have grown so much and become a better child, obedient and loving. You deserve this night dear. I'm proud of you. Enjoy your party!
I was sad because my family wouldn't be there but grandpa made me a nice surprise by bringing almost the whole family with him. Isn't he the greatest?

I am very proud of my baby boy. You are growing so fast and becoming this loving funny child. God bless you son. He has blessed me already with a kid like you.
Congratulations!!!

Zumba

Hey baby I had to post it! It's so funny! My boy dancing zumba. You know that you are becoming a very funny boy? You do some funny stuff which cracks me up. I think you're gonna be just like your uncle Tato.

Halloween

Last night was Halloween. In Brazil we don't actually have that day... different cultures... but Camila wanted to go out dressed like a witch and walk around the houses and so we did. You were wearing this scary mask! It was a lot of fun. You guys got many treats and were all happy!! We will surely do it next year, hopefully in Canada!! Then you will see what it is like to have fun!!
You went to bed at 1am because of the party our neighbor had afterwards. Great night!

Talking politics

Last Sunday was election day (for a new mayor) and you were very excited about it. You wanted Rafael Agostini to win and you really knew what you were talking about. So cute. When I picked you up at our neighbor's house (because I was working at the election) you came saying that Oswaldo was at the top but he was followed very closely by Rafael and in some "urnas" Rafael had more votes. It's really amazing considering that your mom doesn't like politics at all!
Check it out!

Your first and only tatoo (hopefully :)

We went to Guaruja last weekend. It's a very nice beach town located in Sao Paulo state, actually it's our favorite (well at least it's mommy's favorite :) It was sunny and warm and we had a lot of fun jumping the waves and playing on the sand. Grandma was there too and you played with her in the water.
Ah and you also had your first henna tatoo. It was a cute dragon just the way you wanted. It was so funny to see you walking around with your arm lifted so that it wouldn't get damaged. :) You are the cutest little boy!

Camila bought me a gift and you got all jeallous and sad because you didn't have that idea first. So you got upset and I gave you the last R$ 1,00 that was left in my pocket and you went to find a gift for me. It was so cute to see you both walking from tent to tent asking for a 1 real gift (everything was more expensive). But you finally found something!

6th birthday party

My little spiderman is becoming a big boy!
Happy birthday to you dear.
I gave you a spiderman costume as a gift, something you had been asking me for a long time, and you looked so very cute! I think you are ready to be in the movie.
It was a busy weekend but you were so happy there with all your friends and Juju, the clown.
It's rewarding to see you growing baby. You are the best and mommy is very proud of you.

Kung Fu Panda

Flying the kite

Today we had a very nice afternoon. You got to fly a kite for the first time and you enjoyed it so much! We tried it yesterday but we were not lucky since there was no wind. But today the wind was blowing so hard and we were all excited to see your kite flying up in the air. You were very proud of yourself and you looked like you had done it all your life.
Too bad you let go of the line and the kite flew away. We tried to find it but couldn't. Well at least we were the only ones today who could do it.

Suddenly Marie!

Look who came into our lives!!!

She was found inside our car engine and you and your sister wanted to bring her home. What could I do? I can't deny that she was a cutie and she became Duda's best friend. She was named Marie, after Marie. :)
When we went to Marilia for a few days and left her in the house with Elizangela, she said that Marie cried all night long, everyday. I think she was missing Duda, her pillow.
You and Camila would fight over her because you both wanted to hold her the whole day... so fluffy.

Festa Junina - Porto Alvorada - 2008

Last night we went to Porto Alvorada's Festa Junina, a local festival we have every year in most cities in Brazil where people dress country outfits and dance "quadrilhas", sit by the fire, play games and eat special food.

So you performed a quadrilha along with your classmates. Your pair was Maria Eduarda but you had your eye in another girl called Marcela. Smart boy!! Both of them are cute anyway. You couldn't stop looking at me everytime you passed by. You always want to show me how hard you worked to get it done and you are always proud of having your mom there all happy and overprotective. :)

Ah last week you said you wanted to give Marcela a gift. You like her and it's so cute! So we made her a bracelete and you gave her... well kind of... you were so embarassed that you left in on her desk when she left to lunch. :) Here is a picture of her on your birthday party last year. The other girl with red dress used to be your friend. She is lovely too. Her name is Juliana.

Playing soccer.

Last Tuesday I went to school to watch you play soccer with your friends. All the parents were invited. You were all smiles when you saw me there. It was very cute seeing you play and try to score a goal to impress me and even though you didn't I was very proud of you.

Festa Junina - 2008

Today we went to a Festa Junina with grandpa at Kartódromo, in Jaú. It was packed and fun. There was a big bonfire and some people trying to climb that greasy wood stick to get money from the top. We ate corn on the cob, pizza and barbecue and you played fishing.

On our way back we stopped by the park and you went to play at the skate rink with grandpa, who thought he was still a kid. :)

Model for one day

Since we had nothing to do tonight (holiday) we decided to dress up and perform to grandpa. It was very funny because when I showed you the camera you started to make faces and poses as if you had always done that.
You look so cute!!

Undokai in Marilia

Last weekend we went to a japanese celebration called Undokai, where there were races for all ages. It was held in Marilia. You had fun there with your cousins. You didn't win in first place but you surely tried hard!!! I was proud of you!!!

Judo class

Your first and only judo class.
You were so excited about you new class... you couldn't wait for the first day to arrive... it was all you always wanted - to fight!!! :)
Unfortunatelly the minimum age was 7 and you were only five at the time. They were free classes and that's why I was taking you because I couldn't afford private ones.
Well at least you had fun for one day. :)

First visit to Hopi Hari

Last Sunday we went to Hopi Hari, a theme park located in Campinas. Your cousins Thiago and Bianca came with us, along with their mom Silvinha and grandma Misako. Grandma Tomiko was there as well.
It rained the whole time but we bought raincoats and you were fine.
The ride you liked the most was the car simulator. You were brave there.
Some of the rides made you scared, like the Ghost Hotel and the Rollercoast simulator (oh don't worry baby... mom was scared too! we had to keep our eyes closed the whole time! lol). You tried to be brave I know... You will be baby. Not about the time yet.

Here are some pictures:

At 5 years old

No moves so far! :) But I am thinking about it. :)
Your birthday party was at home and all those 20 kids almost drove me nuts! But you enjoyed it because we had this competition. Your friend Marcela fell from the hamac and hit her head badly!!! My goodness!
Your dad came from Colombia with Juan Guillhermo and the girls (Maria Camila and Ana Sofía) and you all went to Rio de Janeiro.
We also went camping with grampa Guilherme. It rained big time and we had to move in the middle of the night to a cabin.
In December you had a great time in Colombia, where you spent the whole month with your dad. You went to your grandma’s house, in Timbio, and got to know your family. You also went for long walks in the mountains and that was the best part of the trip. Your dad called you “el gran caminante” (or something like that).
Mommy went to Portugal and left you both there with your dad and after one week you were already calling out for me. This is how attached you were with your mom. I almost died when I missed the flight back to Colombia because I was so worried about you.
On Easter that year we had our first eggs hunting and you really enjoyed it! It was fun to see you read the maps and run to the next one.
Oh something very nice happened that month too!! You learned how to ride your bicycle!!!! I was so proud of you and so were you! Your smile on that day is something I will always remember. You said ‘did you see how long I rode this time? Did you see it?’ It was very nice! And you were all proud of yourself because you could do it and your sister who were older than you couldn’t. You used to say that a lot.
But you were still a baby for me. :) and you didn't use your baby bottle anymore (except in the morning when it was very nice to drink that warm milk and you could rub the pillow tip in your nose or finger. :) la puntica!!

Well we reached today. From now on I will write as things happen. So that you know your dad and I are planning on moving back to Toronto. He is living in Colombia now and we want to get you guys close together and thought that Canada would be a good place for it. So more changes to come! Stay tuned!

At 4 years old

Oh you will never guess!! Yes honey we moved again! This time to a smaller house, at Jardim Paineiras. But the good thing about it (besides the bad ones named frogs, bats, spiders and their gangs, for being located close to the river) was that you met Vitor, our neighbor, son of Kasmarek (o caçador de perereca). You became best friends and he used to come home often to play on the computer or the videogame and I used to send you guys to his house to play with something else, otherwise you would play all day long with those e-games!
We got our second puppy, Duda. You used to love her. The first thing you did every time we got home was to open the door so that she could come in.
On that year we traveled quite a bit.
In July we went to Sao Paulo and stayed at Marco’s apartment. I took you to Xuxa’s Park, to Ibirapuera’s park (where you had the chance to take a picture with Spiderman in person! :) and to Zoo Safari. It was great!
We also went to Serra Negra and Guarujá with grandma, and stayed in a nice “Colônia de Férias”. Camila and you would go up and down the elevator and fight to decide who was going to push the buttons. But we had a great time! You visited the City of Robots and really enjoyed it!
At the end of the year we went to Guarujá again, only the three of us, and spent Christmas and New Year there.
